Exclusive clip: Ozzy and Jack Osbourne take “Detour” to A&E

In the first season of Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour, the father-son team found themselves on a cross-country road trip visiting historic sites across the U.S.

Today, the pair have taken a detour from the A+E-owned History network, with the second series to premiere on sister net A&E tomorrow (Nov. 8).

The new season sees rock star Ozzy Osbourne and his son Jack hit the road once again to visit iconic American sites.

“When the series was on History, it gave Ozzy and Jack a reason to travel to more historic locations,” says Jenny Daly (pictured, left), president of T Group Productions, which produces the series with Osbourne Media. “Now on A&E, it’s more about the fun and the relationship.”

While the first season of Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour had the pair visit such sites as the FBI Training Academy, Mount Rushmore and NASA’s Johnson Space Center, this season has the Osbournes visiting more quirky destinations and having a range of experiences, from NASCAR racing in Texas, to dogsledding in Alaska, and deep sea fishing in Key West.

Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour joins similar family-focused series on A&E including Wahlburgersand The Lowe Files. It also follows A&E’s recent decision to exit scripted programming, focusing exclusively on non-fiction.

“We’re fortunate because A&E gives us a lot of freedom,” says Jack Osbourne (right). “I love a collaborative production. Whether the network is physically in the trenches or offsite and communicating regularly, it helps for there to be a more creative environment.

“From what I’ve been hearing on social, people have really enjoyed the father-son journey component of the series,” he adds. “I think every person says, ‘Oh, I wish I had spent more time with my parents’, so I think audiences really like to see our relationship evolve.”

Plus, adds Daly, it helps that Ozzy is the epitome of ‘unscripted.’ “We can’t control what comes out of his mouth,” she laughs.

Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour is produced by T-Group Productions with Osbourne Media. Jenny Daly, Jack Osbourne, R. Greg Johnston, Peter Gloswki and Rob Lobl serve as executive producers.
